UMa critically adopts new pedagogical, didactic and evaluation methods in order to respond to new requirements in the creation and consolidation of teaching-learning communities, which in turn, promotes the progressive increase of student autonomy as the creator of their own knowledge. Therefore, the assessment of knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes of students is closely linked to training objectives, with participation groups being planned for a critical analysis of the results and the promotion of a culture of quality. UMa offers faculty the opportunity to participate in training activities promoted by the Academic Development Centre, creating a space to present current and innovative teaching strategies, whilst providing optimal conditions for teaching performance.

Scientific investigation

UMa’s Research is an ongoing priority and rigorous expansion of knowledge frontiers, based on the establishment and development projects, groups, fields and research centres. UMa promotes the convergence of research and teaching, especially in its 2nd and 3rd cycles of studies, in all areas of knowledge, based on methodological rigor, critical analysis, argumentative depth and intellectual freedom.
